Nicklaus Tournament course at PGA West in La Quinta is another masterpiece created by the Bear in 1987.
A true test of golf on this 7,204 yds Par 72 with one of the highest ratings of the region, 75,3/143 from the black tees.
The layout stretches along the Pga West residences, with wide fairways and well guarded greens for a number of unforgettable holes.
A terrific one is
the 461yds 9th hole, a par 4, ranks as the most difficult hole on the course while the par 5 572 yds 15th hole featuring a sloping, split fairway to an island green guarded in front and behind by sand, is the one I loved the most.
Water comes into play only on six holes, two of the are par 3s, while the views of the surrounding Santa Rosa Mountains are amazing from every hole.
The course hosted several tournaments and with the Stadium Course it is home to the yearly PGA's Tour Qualifying School .
