Itanhangà Golf Club, Rio de Janeiro Brazil

Golf in Brazil is still not popular as it is in its neighbor country Argentina (for sure it will be after 2016 Olympic Games), but still I found a great course, not so busy, perfect for a relaxing golf day in Rio de Janeiro.

The course is a nice challenging Par 72 with a 6500 yds layout from the blue tees. Lots of water hazards, lots of bunkers around the small greens, and lots of animal species....I even saw a small crocodile.
The club hosted an European Tour event in 1999 and the LPGA has made a yearly tour stop at Itanhangá since 2009.
The course is bidding to host Olympic golf in 2016, but probably a new course will be built in Rio for the event.
