The course is a nice challenging Par 72 with a 6500 yds layout from the blue tees. Lots of water hazards, lots of bunkers around the small greens, and lots of animal species....I even saw a small crocodile.
The club hosted an European Tour event in 1999 and the LPGA has made a yearly tour stop at Itanhangá since 2009.
The course is bidding to host Olympic golf in 2016, but probably a new course will be built in Rio for the event.
