Is Molas Golf Resort, Sardinia, Italy

I had a great time playing this spectacular course, although it was on one of the hottest day of summer 2012.
Located just 20 miles form Cagliari Airport, on the south western coast of Sardinia, marvelous island on the Mediterranean sea, Is Molas Golf Club is a 27 holes facility, considered one of the top courses in Italy and Europe.

The championship course (White and Red nines) opened in 1975 and have been designed by architects Cotton, Pennink & Partners in collaboration with Piero Mancinelli.
Since then it hosted four Italian Open (2000 edition won by Ian Poulter) and a Volvo European Master (won by Vijay Singh).

The course, almost 7000 yds long (CR 74.9 SR 133) , has a spectacular layout among the typical Mediterranean flora, wildlife and great views of the sea.

Although challenging, the other nines (yellow course), designed by Franco Piras are considered even more difficult (CR 72.6 SR 141) , with narrow fairways, elevation changes and small greens.

Recently the project of a new 18 holes Gary Player designed "Signature Course", together with a new hotel, new clubhouse and new villas, has been announced and works will begin soon.
Is Molas will have 45 pristine holes located in a unique location.
