This is one of the most challenging and beautiful courses I' ve played. Maderas Golf Club, owned and operated by Troon Golf, is located in Poway, Southern California, close to San DIego.
The course, a long 7167 yds from the tips Par 72 (75.4 144), is nestled in the Poway foothills, and the result of this great Johnny Miller masterpiece is a combination of great holes. Lakes, waterfalls, ravines and creeks, forests and cliffs are among the challenges you have to go through playing here.
I really love all the par 3s of the course…Greens are tricky and fasts.
Signature hole is the Par 5 14th, an uphill 560 yds hole where a ravine protects the elevated green.
Service, as every Troon managed golf course I've played, is 5-star.
